(1) Any candidate or his election representative or counting representative of the relevant constituency in relation to the counting of votes in an election under the first-come, first-served election system before the end of the counting of votes in a polling station or before the sealing of the counted ballot papers and by any party in relation to the counting of votes in an election under the proportional election system The election representative or the counting representative can immediately submit a written request to the election officer with reasons for re-counting of some or all of the ballots.
(2) If an application is received according to sub-section (1), the election officer may immediately register the application and repeat the counting if it appears necessary to repeat the counting.
(3) If it is not necessary to repeat the counting of votes according to sub-section (2), the election officer shall make a decision on the matter and give notice of such decision to the relevant candidate, election representative or counting representative present at such place before announcing the election result.
